Peter Toy will show a new solo work that was developed during his residency at Polli Talu - a landscape in which we can fall into and disappear

Peter Toy from Perth in Western Australia is a fine arts teacher and performance artist. In his performances he integrates video footage with ritualistic body art rooted in primitivism and spiritualism.

The performance will be formatted as a lecture/interactive demonstration of TAKETINA-style experiences, as well as offering some soloing on a few different types of drums, berimbau, percussion sounds, and voice.

Greg Burrows is a jazz drummer and 'world music' percussionist from New York City. He has studied under some of the world's foremost rhythm masters, including Dave Weckl, Glen Velez, and others. In October 2003 he completed 5 years' training as a TAKETINA Rhythm Teacher with its creator, the Viennese composer/percussionist Reinhard Flatischler, and was certified 'fully qualified Advanced Level'. Greg is an artist in residence at Polli Talu Arts Center this summer.

Video/Performance Festival, Final Presentations by participants of the Video/Performance Workshop with video artists Ernest Gusella, Tomiyo Sasaki and director/performer Kyle DeCamp (New York). Two Evenings of Dance by Young Choreographers, Final Presentations by choreographers participating in the Choreography/Music/Lighting Workshop with choreographer Douglas Dunn, composers/musicians Lisa Karrer, David Simons, and lighting designer Carol Mullins (New York). Three Evenings of Dance: Performances by Participants of DANCE ACROSS BORDERS, International Symposium for Independent Choreographers: Galina Borissova (Bulgaria), Gregor Kamnikar (Slovenia), Valentina Cabro (Slovenia), Andrius Pulkauninkas (Lithuania), Lina Prodziukaite (Lithuania), Iwona Olszowska (Poland), Tiina Ollesk (Estonia), Rene N›mmik (Estonia), Susan Osberg (USA), Pat Cremins (USA), Gun Lund (Sweden). Lighting by Madeleine Strandberg (Sweden) assisted by Lars Persson (Sweden). (Supported in part by the Culture Link program of the Center for Contemporary Arts, Estonia and the Swedish Institute.)

VI IDUS AUGUSTI, Outdoor Spectacle Polish composer Mieczyslaw Litwinski, Polish singers, Estonian dancers and 90 citizens of Lihula participated in an international collaboration that culminated in a performance spectacle presented outdoors in the medieval stronghold of Lihula, inspired by the battle of 1220, which took place in the same location. Written, directed and choreographed by Marika Blossfeldt (New York/Estonia), commissioned and produced by Lihula Culturehouse. (Supported in part by Kultuurkapital, Estonia.)
